Ugh.

This hurts more than it should.
I wish I could shake it off. But I can't.
When you feel something for the first time, it knocks the wind out of you.
It stops you cold.
It changes the meaning to everything. Makes you look at life in a new light.
Makes you love every butterfly.
Getting over that loss and pain is bitter sweet.. you want to shake it off so you can return to being a normal human again, but you don't because if you do then that feeling dies.
And if it dies, will you ever have it again?
The pain is almost better, it insures you're still capable of feeling something.
I don't want to forget. Don't want it to fade away or  be forgotten.
I don't want to be forgotten.
... I will never forget.

"I keep reachin out for you, hopin you might stay.. reachin out for you, as you turn away. The door is closing and I just can't change it..."

  1. Wow, the lyrics to this song hit me to my core. I LOVE Lady Antebellum btw. This is exactly how I feel about the loss of my latest love. Take today for example, I awoke feeling sheer gratitude and peace about my life. I havent felt this much gratitude and peace since just before I met him. Quickly it hit me that I didnt have a hole in my heart and then I got sad because a lack of a hole meant that he was further out of my life and that he really would end up being just "someone I used to know" like all of my other exes. I feel God/the Universe pulling me to another level of joy and I'm choosing to keep my thoughts on a man who is probably not thinking of me. One thing that makes me scared to let go, is my age. With age comes wisdom but looking older comes w age too and I'm 43 and feel like there's less time for lightening to strike. Well, thanks for this post. Just for today, I am going to hold on to the joy I woke up with and just for today I a not going to be anchored w thoughts from the past. Tomorrow and the next day I'm going to do the same thing. Focusing on joy doesnt have to mean that I let go of him completely but maybe by focusing on joy, my heart will naturally let go and then there will be room for more joy. Peace to you..Rhonda

    1. Rhonda, I love your thoughts... I know how you feel. That feeling of losing the "feeling" or the closeness where that person merges into "just someone you used to know" is the worst! Holding on to the pain almost feels better sometimes.. but luckily time does heal a broken heart, and luckily they do fade or we would all die of broken hearts! I'm glad your focusing on what you want and not what you don't.. and I know how hard that can be.
